Dainty Chiffon Vintage Prom Dresses

Nothing says cool like a chiffon vintage prom dress. Chiffon is the fabric of dreams and you can always pick up a chiffon creation that will envelope you in its special aura on a prom night. Vintage chiffon gowns come in pastels, solid colors and beautiful floral prints. These wispy garments of yesteryears can offer you an exciting prom dress option.

A vintage prom chiffon dress looks exceptional and appears just perfect for the special event. It may be challenging to find styles in plus sizes. These translucent and fragile creations are quite stunning especially in eye-catching shades of pinks, blues, lavender and beige. These delicate vintage creations have been usually made into elegant gowns of the 50's and 60's. They are especially notable for their use of bright colors, such as pink, green, and yellow. However these colors do not appear garish as they are blended into warm and muted hues. With some cool vintage accessories, like white gloves or vintage jewelry, you can complete the look and walk in to prom looking like a million bucks.

Classic 1940's prom dresses in pastel shades are generally over stated with ruche or bunched bodices and sleeves with matching nylon underlining. Chiffon dresses usually have sweeping bias cuts draped over low or high cut waists and appears to cascade down to the hemlines that again can be ankle length or just below the knees depending on the style of the times. Often pastel gowns are embellished with trimmings and embroidery or beadwork. The beautiful thing about chiffon is that it can actually make you feel slender and lightweight because of the texture of the fabric. The classic vintage styles tend to treat the fabric with a lot of regard for its daintiness.
